Come along to the Fungus Foray
Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens is inviting residents to get involved with nature by staging a fantastic fungal foray.
The foray will be led by Penny Cullington from the British Mycological Society and is taking place on Wednesday 30 October starting at 10am at the Memorial Gardens on Church Lane, Stoke Poges, SL2 4NZ.
Visitors are asked to bring a container, for example a small basket or an ice cream / margarine tub and a hand trowel for collecting fungi, and are also welcome to bring along their own specimens from home for identification.
This is a great activity for families to get outdoors and amongst the autumn colours during half term. It is open to people of all ages and we encourage nature lovers to come along and join in this fun and informative fungus foray, and to top it off there will be tea and biscuits on offer.
The Garden is host to a wide range of amazing toadstools and bracket fungi. In previous years around 50 types of fungi were found including the rare earthstar. Edible, poisonous, rare or unusual, you never know what you might find!
