Free Heritage Open Day Event at Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens
Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens is once again hosting a free Heritage Open Day event on Sunday September 10 from 2 to 4.30pm.
This is a unique opportunity to have a guided walk through the 80 year old, Grade I listed gardens and see historic sites connected to the poet Thomas Gray spanning several centuries. You will visit historic St Giles' Church, which was mentioned in the Domesday Book, catch a glimpse of the grand Manor House built in 1555, visit the Thomas Gray Monument and tomb (1770's - 90's), have a go at ringing the church bells and to top it all off, a cup of tea at the exclusive Stoke Park Mansion from 4pm.
We hope lots people will take the opportunity to visit these beautiful Gardens for what promises to be a very informative day. Tea at Stoke Park is limited to 20 people so book today to avoid disappointment.
