Work starts on the Tatling End Housing Project

Preparations have begun for the demolition works to commence at the former police station at Tatling End, Denham to make way for a brand new housing development brought to you by South Bucks District Council in partnership with the main contractor Willmott Dixon Construction.

Once completed, the new housing project will include 34 one and two-bedroom energy efficient apartments available to rent. Fourteen of these are allocated as affordable homes at a below market rate. There is shared and private amenity plus parking provision.

This is one of a number of projects in South Bucks District designed to deliver a range of much needed housing options for the local community including affordable rented housing and accommodation for homeless families.

It is anticipated that the scheme will take 14 months to build with completion of the development expected by summer 2020.

The site is located just off the A40 Oxford Road which allows easy access to amenities such as schools, shops, medical facilities, leisure sites, work opportunities and has excellent transport links to the motorway network being two miles away from Junction 1 of the M40, providing a link to central London and the M25. Gerrards Cross and Denham railway stations are less than two miles away providing fast and frequent services to London Marylebone. London Underground network can be accessed less than three miles away in Uxbridge. There are several bus stops close by and London Heathrow Airport is under 15 miles away.

South Bucks District Councillor Patrick Hogan, Portfolio Holder for Healthy Communities says: "This is an exciting new project that will not only enhance the area, but will provide much-needed new homes for the community.

"Helping people in South Bucks to find a home is one of the most important things we do as a Council and this scheme is just one of the significant steps we are taking to address this issue. In addition to this development, we will soon be delivering twelve flats in Burnham / Taplow that will provide additional accommodation for homeless households. We continue to work with registered provider partners such as L&Q, Paradigm and Bucks Housing in a bid to deliver more affordable housing."

Willmott Dixon's New Business Director, Richard Davidson says: "We care about delivering affordable, high quality homes as well as ensuring every project we undertakes leaves a positive impact.

"It's going to be great working closely with South Bucks council to deliver these much needed homes. Our team brings experience from affordable homes built recently for St Albans District Council where our collaborative approach has helped to meet the local housing need."
