Denham Parish Neighbourhood Plan
On 12 September 2017, South Bucks District Council approved Denham Parish Council's application to declare the whole of the Denham Parish Council area as a Neighbourhood Area. This followed the Parish Councils application on the 10 August 2017 to declare the entire Parish Area as a Neighbourhood Area. This is in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations (Regulation 5A) which came into effect on 1 October 2016 requiring Local Planning Authorities to declare Neighbourhood Areas when a Parish Council applies to have their entire Parish declared as a Neighbourhood Area. This regulation also removes the requirement to consult on the Neighbourhood Area Application in these instances.
The Decision Report, Parish Map, and Area Application are available at the bottom of this page.
The parish council completed a period of local community engagement on their Neighbourhood Plan in June/July 2020 and submitted the final version to us.
Regulation 16 publication
Following submission by the parish we then undertook, as the local authority, an eight-week public consultation on the submitted plan. The consultation opened 7 Dec 2020 and closed 31 Jan 2021. This was an opportunity for local people to comment on the neighbourhood Plan before it went to independent examination.
The Denham Neighbourhood Plan includes policies that look to shape local development. It has a design focus and seeks to protect local heritage assets, the Colne Valley Park and local water features. It also designates some areas of local green space. The plan seeks to protect existing community uses and pubs and to retain employment uses within the area, whilst allowing some redevelopment on specified brownfield sites. Please see the documents and links at the end of the page for more information.
