Chiltern and South Bucks' Joint Revenues Team Scoops National Award

Being 'Stronger in Partnership' has been the key for success with Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils being acclaimed the Revenues Team of the Year, at the prestigious IRRV annual awards in Telford last month.

The Revenues team at Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils entered the national competition in 2017 and were highly commended. Coming back in October 2018 with a winning submission after beating off stiff competition from Broadland, Colchester and Folkestone and Hythe Councils in the final stage with their vision of a customer focused efficient and professional service responsive to customer's needs while protecting the interests of local taxpayers.

During a period of tremendous change, reduced budgets and local government reorganisation, the awards panel inspectors noted the teams enthusiasm and that the service had demonstrated further achievements since last year.

Chiltern District Councillor Fred Wilson, Portfolio Holder for Customer Services said: "I'm extremely proud of the team. The past two years have brought huge changes which the team has tackled with enthusiasm, seizing the opportunity to build on a highly professional service and making on-going improvements that set the standard for others to follow. They have built on last year's success when they received the Highly Commended Award, and have now gone one better scooping the well-deserved Revenues Team of the Year Award."

South Bucks District Councillor Duncan Smith, Portfolio Holder for Customer and Business Support said: "I'm delighted that working in partnership with Chiltern District Council has proven so successful. From 1 November the shared service is now provided fully in-house and will continue to deliver further efficiencies and improvements in collection to the benefit of all residents."
